These five series of digital prints are a new avenue in my work. They are made from the debri of the painting sessions- the card, paper and small objects that I have used and have accumulated in the left over paints and materials. As I sort through them, they start to evoke a similar emotion and space that I created in the larger works. On even closer inspection, landscapes and spaces (inscapes) reveal themselves. I then use my computer to harness their potential and to turn them into intense and valid artworks.
The five different series suggest different thought processes as my preoccupations have changed over the last few months. Mountain Studies came first (made whilst I was doing my slate prints), followed by Wye Valley, Suffolk River, Quiet Moonscapes and then Nocturnes (as my thoughts have been drifting more towards my exhibition in Suffolk.)
They are all printed small, to provide miniature windows on the landscapes I am responding to. |
