SOLD

A series of painted prints that were exhibited at the Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh, Suffolk in October 2004, as part of a group show called Ebb and Flow.

The eight images were heavily inspired by the trilogy, Northern Lights, by Philip Pullman.

I was fascinated by the idea of Dust, the life force, passing through cuts (windows) into parallel universes. These paintings inadvertently tell the narrative.

I started off by printing small particles and a variety of surfaces onto canvas. I did these prints at Suffolk College, where I met with my ASAT colleagues (see www.asatweb.co.uk ). I then took the stretched canvases to Butley Mills Studios, in a very picturesque setting in Chillesford, Suffolk. I rented a chicken barn (full of dust) for two weeks and proceeded to finish the images to the music of Scriabin.

Each canvas is 46cm by 96cm
