One would think that the change of colour and the increased number of layers was enough to contend with, but then another battle ensued. The MDF and rubber plates started disintegrating.

The desire to finish the prints that I had already started (I hate leaving things unresolved) encouraged me to find ways to over come this problem. I tried intaglio (using a variety of paints and inks), rubbings, double-printing, squeegying-  as the techniques became more experimental, so they became even more difficult to control.

The result is that the last few prints in the series have a more painterly quality and an even greater vulnerability.
